Rebecca has been a freelance writer, researcher and strategy consultant since she had her first child in 2005. She works for local news organizations as well agencies and private corporations.

Rebecca was the marketing director for the Gaslamp Quarter, the downtown San Diego dining and entertainment district. She managed marketing materials, special events and media relations. Later a marketing manager for a small engineering firm, she handled trade and channel advertising and communications.

corporate era

A Director at Burson-Marsteller, Rebecca led a number of programs and initiatives for clients in a variety of industries both domestically and overseas. She was the international client lead for Jacuzzi Brands, Inc. managing B2B and consumer marketing teams in four countries. In addition, Rebecca served as the U.S. client lead for Visa International managing the U.S. team in all areas of business from executive platform issues and economic affiliations to the Winter Olympics and consumer financial education programming.

After having managed clients, teams, boards, volunteers and now children, Rebecca is settled as a freelancer. When writing news and features pieces she specializes in business and technology, home and garden and family and parenting issues. Working across numerous industries for corporate writing and research, she sticks to her ā€œThree Eā€™sā€ which means she strives to make every piece she writes Easy-to-Read, Entertaining and Educational. This, she believes makes every piece she writes better.

Rebecca received her bachelor’s degree in Communications with minors in History and Literature from the University of California, San Diego. She received her master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
