Face it — most of us get bored and want to change things in our house after awhile.

Ever get the urge to throw everything out and buy a bunch of new stuff so things will look — well, different? Don’t go throwing things out just yet.

Most of us don’t redecorate on a regular basis for two main reasons 1) money, and 2) time.

However, even in these economically stricken times, redecorating can be done. Here are some easy and inexpensive ways to redecorate your home.

Paint. Painting a room has always been and still is the easiest and most affordable way to change the way a room looks. Paint makes a room look new and can make a room look completely different. Painting is something virtually anyone can do, and most rooms can be painted with one-gallon of paint which costs approximately $30. With supplies you should be able to paint a room for well under $50.

Look to Make Small Purchases. Buying expensive furniture is not the only way to change the look of a room. A number of small accents can make a big difference in a room. New throw pillows for the couch in the living room can help bring in texture or add a new color scheme to a room. Change the knobs and pulls in the kitchen for a simple but satisfactory change. Or, chose new towels for the bathroom. All of these purchases won’t break the bank, but have a sizeable impact on the way a room looks.

Rearrange What You’ve Got. Take inventory of what you have and figure out a new way of displaying your vases, pictures, books and more. Rotate what you have on display every couple of months. Group all your books by color, stack some vertically and others horizontally. Move pictures around on your wall or group the pictures in a different and interesting pattern.

Introduce Something Living. A easy, cheap and fun way to literally bring life to a room is to add a plant, flowers or a small tree. There are a number of indoor plants to chose from. Chose a flowering variety for even more color.
